Welcome to my blog!

A little about me as a Professional…

This year I am going into my fourth year of teaching. I currently work at an independent school teaching IB Individuals and Societies for grades 7, 8, and 9, in Victoria, but previously taught in the public system in the Okanagan/Shuswap region.

I have taught many different things but History is my passion and I love where I currently am.

I am passionate about developing inclusive, inquiry-based learning experiences for my students the work with and embrace the use of technology. I love sharing my knowledge with other educators and collaborating together to create the best possible experiences for all students.

I am involved with coaching Jr. Girls Volleyball, as well as Middle School Track and Field. If I can find time, I also try and help out with the Middle School Play as much as I can!

I tend to be a little bit of a perfectionist and will also spend an embarrassing amount of time creating things for my classroom. Most recently I have spent countless hours digitally drawing Taylor Swift for some classroom expectation posters.

A little more about me outside of school…

I have a loving husband and the cutest mini golden doodle puppy named Eevee. This year we have a homestay student living with us which is a new adventure for everyone but we are making the most of it and having so much fun together! 🙂

I love traveling, running, reading, and anything creative.

This passed summer we spent 3.5 weeks in Japan exploring, and eating. We had so much fun exploring a new culture and learned so much.

I am currently training for my very first marathon which will be happening in less than 2 months! And if the classroom postered mentioned above didn’t give it away, I am a big Taylor Swift fan.
